SCHOOL NEWS for the week of December 14th.

All Lost and Found items will be on display in the front hallway this week.  Any unclaimed items after December 14th will be donated to those in need. 

Hot Chocolate Day  is this Thursday, Dec. 17^th at lunch time.

Pajama Day  is this Friday, December 18, 2015.

Holiday Carolling Assembly  - Gibson has decided to have a Holiday Carolling assembly this Friday, Dec. 18^th at 10:40 am. 

As we come to the end of another year, Gibson staff would like to wish you and your loved ones a warm and happy holiday, and a peaceful and prosperous new year.

Hip Hop Dance Presentation

on January 18, 2016

Thank you to all those families who have already submitted their payment for our Hip Hop Dance program that will take place in January.  If you still need to submit your payment, please see the attached permission form.

We also want to inform all parents about a slight change in the presentation schedule for Monday, January 18, 2016.  Please see below for the time that your child’s class will be performing.  All parents are welcome to attend and watch the performance.

Dear Parents/Guardians:

This is a reminder that the money and/or form has not been returned to the school for your child/ren.  In order to continue to bring students educational and fun opportunities like Mr. Barkie we need to have your support.  Please send the money and/form in as soon as possible.  Thank you for your continued support.  If there are any concerns please contact the school directly.

There has been a change to the Presentation Schedule as we anticipate many of you wishing to come and see everyone perform so there is an attached schedule so you know when your children are performing.

Hip Hop Dance Program

Between Jan. 4 to Jan 18, 2016 (not including the PA Day), Justin Barkie will be returning to Joseph A. Gibson to work with our students to enhance our dance program.  This is an excellent opportunity for the whole school to engage in the creative dance process and try out a specific dance with a professional instructor.  Mr. Barkie has worked on many professional music videos with various artists and runs his own dance studio.

The cost per student is $10.00 plus tax; however, Parent Council has agreed to subsidize the cost from their Art Enhancement Fund.  Each student is asked to pay $7.50.  Please submit your payment by cheque or money order payable to Joseph A. Gibson P.S..  We are asking to collect the money before the Christmas/Winter break because this event starts the first day back on January 4, 2016.   If you have more than one child, please send the cheque or money order with the oldest child.

INVEST-IN-STUDENTS DONATION DRIVE

 October 8 - October 30th 

Remember, this is our ONE major fundraising effort to enrich the experiences of our children!  It will help our school raise funds to support the School Improvement Plan, Academics, Athletics and the Arts. Families are asked to make a one-time voluntary donation that will be used to enhance school programs—it doesn’t matter the amount….every little bit helps! If you need another donation letter, click on the link below or copies are also available in the office or in the Parent Information Centre in the main lobby.
